The conference will be held on the shores of Lake Geneva, in Évian-les-Bains, France.
Evian is a town located on the lakefront of Lake Geneva in the northern French Alps, opposite Lausanne, 50 km north-north-east of Geneva and 110 km from Chamonix.
Evian is known worldwide as a spa town and for its Evian mineral water.
You will find lots of useful information about the venue here.
All participants will stay at the VVF Evian and share lunch and dinner together, providing ample opportunity for fruitful discussions and exchanges.

Please note that the VVF is a holiday centre and does not operate in the same way as a hotel.
You will find an indoor heated swimming pool on site.
Lake Geneva is within a 5-minute walk and the water temperature should still be OK for swimming (around 19°C). Don’t forget your swimwear!

Practical Information
- If you are arriving on September 27th :
A shuttle bus will be available to drive participants from the Evian railway station to the conference site on Sunday 27th September. It will be running from 13:30 to 19:30.
The VVF reception will be open from 2 pm to 8 pm to hand out keys.
If you expect to arrive after 8 pm, please email us to let us know your approximate arrival time. We will then provide instructions on how to collect your keys. - If you are arriving on a different day (or out of the schedule above) :
The conference site is close to the railway station. It takes 30 minutes on foot, 10 minutes by regular local bus or taxi. For the regular local bus, there are two options:
1- From the train station, take the regular bus line number 2 in the direction of Maxilly-sur-Léman, Petite Rive, stopping at the Village Vacances. There is no bus number 2 on Sundays.
2- From the train station, it is a 2-minute walk to the Anna de Noailles bus stop. Then take the number 10 bus in the direction of Saint Gingolph, Rue Nationale, to the VVF bus stop.

We will arrange two buses to reach the Évian-les-Bains railway station: one departing at 2:00 p.m. (train at 2:21 p.m. to Geneva) and one at 3:00 p.m. (train at 3:21 p.m. to Geneva).
In order to size the buses appropriately, we will send you a survey so that you can let us know whether you plan to take one of the buses.
- Weather :
The temperature, in principle, should be comfortable, ranging from 20 to 25 °C during the day and cooling to 10 to 15 °C at night.
- WIFI :
WIFI connection is unfortunately only available in common parts (conference room, bar, lunch-dining room) but not in the rooms. For those not leaving in Europe we strongly recommend to look for a temporary phone sim card or European subscription extension to use your phone.
- Dress code :
Casual informal.
Travel Information
The conference venue in Évian-les-Bains is easily accessible by plane from Geneva Airport, by train from Évian-les-Bains railway station, or by train and boat from Lausanne.
- By plane :
The journey from Geneva Airport (GVA) to Evian takes approximately one hour by train with Swiss Railways. Please check the timetable at the following address: https://www.sbb.ch/en. Select the route from ‘Geneva Airport’ to ‘Evian-les-Bains’.
- By train :
Evian can be reached from Geneva (Genève Cornavin main station) and other Swiss cities by train with Swiss Railways (SBB CFF SFF). Please check the timetable at the following address: https://www.sbb.ch/en

- By train and boat
Take the fast train to Lausanne from Paris or Germany, and then catch the regular N1 boat service operated by CGN (timetable available here). The “Evian boat stop” is a 10-minute walk from the conference venue.
